Auction
Use this channel when you wish to sell a piece of equipment, buy a piece of equipment someone else is selling, or request equipment that you need.
Gossip
Use this channel to broadcast a message across the entire mud. It is up to the discretion of our staff what is and is not allowed on gossip. In the event that a discussion is deemed inappropriate, for whatever reason, it will cease. In certain situations, the conversation may be directed to continue on another channel.
Gossip is never to be used to say rude things about other players. This includes pk talk. Keep that sort of thing on the chat channel. Gossip is also not to be used to show everyone that you are drunk, or disguised as something funny. There should also be no disparaging comments regarding race, religion, politics, or sexual orientation of other people or groups.
Quest
The quest channel is used to discuss various quests here at Necromium. It can be used to discuss anything that has to do with the current running quest or simply quests in general. Discussion that does not relate in any way to quests has no place on the quest channel.
Shout
Use this command to shout out your message. Anyone near you will hear what you have shouted unless they have the shout channel turned off.
Chat
Use this channel to broadcast a message across the entire mud. It is up to the discretion of our staff what is and is not allowed on chat. In the event that a discussion is deemed inappropriate, for whatever reason, it will cease. In certain situations, the conversation may be directed to continue on another channel.
Here are some things you may see on the chat channel:
- Comments about items that are up for sale on the auction channel.
- PK talk.
- Jokes, sometimes obscene.
- General discussion of non-game related topics.
- Swearing and other vulgar discussion including topics of a sexual nature.
Chat is bound by our normal channel rules. As a refresher, these are:
- No spamming.
- No discussion of other muds (whether good or bad).
Tell
Use this command to tell another player anything you want.
NOTE: Only the target will hear what you are saying.
TELL can be toggled on and off by [channel tell].
When off, you will not be able to give or receive tells
You can use the AFK command if you are leaving the keyboard and wish to have a message displayed to anyone who tells you.
If someone tells you, it is automatically logged by the MUD. You can use the command SHOWLOG to show the 15 most recent tells to you, and the command CLEARLOG to clear the log buffer.
Clan
The clantalk command allows a clan member to send a message to their clan. Any clan member that is allowed to talk on their clan channel may use this command. When a clan sends a message to their clan the message is preceded by their name. Clans also have the option of assigning members "prefixes" that are appended to the names when talking on the clan channel.
If the clan is a member of a house then the house has the option to also have the message sent to all clans in the house.
Quiet
Toggles all channels currently on to off so that user may read infos or postings without being disturbed. Type quiet again to toggle all channels that were inactivated back on.
Ignore
Use this command to toggle ignoring another player.
Typing ignore without a target will display the list of currently ignored players.
You will still see the following with regard to that player:
name on who/where (if you normally could) entering/leaving the room the player in the room if you walk in the player in combat.
NOTE: A player's block list is limited to 25 players
Emote
Use these commands to display your own message to anyone in the room, where emote is your name.
Example-
emote thinks he's going crazy -- would display to the entire room:
[Your name] thinks he's going crazy.
Socials
Socials are commands used to show your affective state to others. The actor, victim and bystanders may receive different messages. Generally, social commands are used only to express emotion and not to take action, but it is possible that some mobs (or players) will take action based on the social.
Type socials to see a complete list of socials you may perform on your victim.
Pray
This channel is heard by all immortals 34+. The pray channel is ONLY meant for directing questions and requests for help when you do not know where to send them otherwise.
